Project Description
The ESW 'Events' Team covers all club events from member socials, to community service, professional development, K-12 outreach, and the annual Sustainability Summit. Duties include securing guest speakers, coordinating workable dates, assigning roles, creating and distributing marketing material, maintaining the 'Schedule' section of the website, and coming up with creative ways to get members and our community excited about sustainability!
Divisions
Professional Development
As a professional engineering association, URI ESW aims to provide its members with curated skill building opportunities. A list of past and proposed workshops can be found by clicking the button below- if you are interested in seeing a specific event, let us know!
Volunteering
ESW members frequently attend local RI beach cleanups through organizations such as Save The Bay and ORCA, and the club promotes sustainable community service options to its members. Click the button below to see this month's list!
The Sustainability Summit
The annual Sustainability Summit is the most extensive educational outreach event ESW hosts each year. It uses the principles of Education, Collaboration, and a Call To Action to promote sustainable thought and habits. The event is free to attend, and typically includes expert seminars, a catered lunch, a design challenge (with prizes!), and has been a great success in years past!
Member Socials
Creating and fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment is in our mission statement! In this spirit, ESW hosts various outings such as bowling, square dancing, hikes, and craft nights, to bring our members together!
